There is a part of every human being that longs for some deeper meaning to life - that questions whether our nine to five lives and our endless quest to be entertained are all there are to life. That questions whether there is a God, or at least a God that cares about us.  

For those whose stories you find on this website, those questions have been answered in the person and message of Jesus.   If you are seeking meaning in life or trying to find God, we encourage you to read the stories that are posted here as part of your search.

In the Bible, God once told His people, Israel, that ". . . you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

That verse is part of a principle that everyone who has posted on this site has found to be true in their own lives - that God will honor an honest search for Him ;  an honest desire for a restored relationship with Him.

If you have already found purpose in Jesus in your own life, there is another principle that applies to you.  If you know  Truth, you must tell Truth to those around you.  

In Acts 1:8, Jesus called us to "be my witnesses."  A witness is someone who can tell a true story about something they have personally seen or experienced.  The experience in the Apostle Paul's life was so powerful - the testimony of what he had experienced in Christ so life-changing - that he resolved to live a life devoted solely to communicating the Truth he had found.   And Paul challenged us to follow Jesus as he did.

Cross-Purposes is here primarily to encourage followers of Jesus to think about what they have witnessed in their own lives, and to make communication of the experience they have in Christ an integral part of their lives and conversation.  

So tell your story here.  But more importantly, tell it to the people God has put in your life.

A Note About Belief:  The transformation that Jesus brings to lives crosses many political, cultural, and even religious heritages. While there may be disagreement between many of those who are linked here about many issues, and indeed, we at Cross-Purposes may even disagree with some of what is presented on the sites that hold the stories that are linked here, there is one common ground we have with all of them - we all have a story to tell about the point in our lives at which we placed faith in Jesus and at which He made each of us a new creation in Him  - and we all want to tell that story.  And that is enough to make us brothers and sisters, and that makes these stories worth reading.
